Sport
Beroun and its surroundings offer a variety of sporting opportunities. It has a number of children’s playgrounds, football grounds, tennis courts and other facilities for a wide range of activities. Young and adults alike can use the athletic stadium and in winter months the indoor Sokol and TJ Lokomotiva sport centres. The Czech Karst with its nature trails and marked pathways is a paradise for hikers, bikers and horse riders. The nearby lime stone rocks are popular with climbers, the River Berounka with canoeists. A brand new sports centre, Tipsport Eden, has recently grown up in the western residential area of Beroun. The Tipsport Laguna swimming centre is currently being built in the vicinity of the winter stadium. Under construction are also a golf course, skatepark and new cycle-ways.
Outdoor swimming pool
Located in Karla Capka Street in the western residential area, the outdoor swimming pool is open from June till early September. The atypically shaped heated pool is ideal for swimming as well as playing in water. In the diving area the depth goes to 4 metres. The complex also features lawns, children’s wading pool, snack bar with seating and summer terrace. Cloakrooms, showers and toilets are a matter of course. In good weather, the swimming pool is open daily from 10 am to 7 pm. The ticket price includes free use of the neighbouring mini-golf course. Officially opened on 17 August 1979, the swimming pool underwent a thorough renovation in 2002-2004.

TJ Lokomotiva Sport Centre
Located next to the track-and-field Tyrsuv Stadium, the TJ Lokomotiva Sport Centre includes two squash courts, tennis hall, fitness gym, spinning room and relaxation studio equipped with recondition and massage t ables. The first floor features the non-smoking Sportbar with two bowling tracks and a summer terrace.

Fitness Tyran centre
The modern Fitness Tyran sport centre found near the winter stadium offers a broad range of sporting activities. The choice includes muscle conditioning and spinning as well as aerobics, martial arts and table tennis. Qualified health trainers and personal instructors are on hand. Part of the centre is also a sauna and whirlpool.

Sportsground Hlinky
Open to both school children and general public is the sportsground in Hlinky with facilities for track and field events, football, mini football, handball, tennis, table tennis, basketball, floorball, volleyball, football-tennis, streetball and petangue. The background services include sports equipment rental, locker-equipped cloakrooms, light refreshments on sale and showers. The lighting system also allows for evening sport upon booking. In winter the sportsground facilities serve mainly table t ennis players.

Winter stadium
The winter stadium is situated in the Na Ostrove district, just a stone’s throw from the River Berounka. After the floods of 2002 the stadium had to undergo a costly reconstruction with the biggest investment going into the ammonia cooling system. The stadium is home to the Czech First Ice-Hockey League team HC Berounsti Medvedi (Beroun Bears). The ice rink is therefore a training venue for adult players as well as two hundred boys under 18 in nine youth teams. The stadium is also open to the public for leisure skating. The newly installed all-season surface has made the stadium usable for in-line skating in summer months. The year 2006 saw establishing of the first in-line hockey team, IHC Berounsti Medvedi (Beroun Bears). The stadium capacity is 2,272 places including 272 seats. The neighbouring Boskuv statek car park can hold up to 128 cars.
