The Municipal Cinema also called Mír has been extensively reconstructed and is the only 3D cinema in the region. It is Beroun’s pride and joy. It is equipped with a modern sound system, Dolby Digital Surround EX, which is comparable to the sound systems of Prague’s multiplex cinemas.
display on mapThe open-air cinema, which is situated near the Městská hora forest park, is open from the end of May to the end of August. Its popularity is manifested by the fact that for many years it has been among the ten most frequented open-air cinemas in the Czech Republic.
display on mapThe Municipal Library in Beroun was founded on 23 July 1896 as a result of the efforts of the association called “Museum and Public Library in Beroun.” Its beginnings are connected with voluntary librarians, such as Vincenc Švagr, František Mlíčko, Josef Mestek and Leoš Mucha.
